The Spectrex SharpEye 40/40C-M flame detector is a Multi IR Quad-Sense flame detector, which is an innovative Multi IR Quad-Sense flame detector and part of the next generation SharpEye 40/40 series.
The Quad-Sense technology uses four independent IR sensors all placed in the invisible infra-red spectrum to detect hydrocarbon fires as well as Hydrogen fires at the same time. Using this unique technology Spectrex creates an enhanced performance, advanced long-distance detection of hydrocarbon fires up to 65 m while simultaneously detecting a hydrogen plume fire at 30 meters. This is all done with a fast detection speed of under 5 seconds. The Spectrex SharpEye 40/40C-M Multi IR Quad-Sense flame detector is used and suited for a large variety of applications with a risk of hydrocarbon and/or hydrogen fires. Because of the high quality, SIL 3 approval and MTBF of over 150.000 hours the unit can operate in safety critical applications.
Because of the large variety of substances with an FM performance approval it makes this the hydrogen ready flame detector. Currently the Spectrex SharpEye 40/40C-M Multi IR Quad-Sense flame detector is the only detector model on the market with an FM performance approval for both Hydrogen and Hydrocarbon fires. This ensures safety in applications with multiple fire risks without compromising on capabilities as with UV/IR models.
