Hansentek Spark Detector
Hansentek Spark detectors are a crucial safety measure employed in air extraction duct systems. It serves to identify and swiftly respond to the presence of small sparks or incendiary particles within the ductwork. By utilizing advanced sensors and real-time monitoring, spark detection technology mitigates the risk of potential fires or explosions, ensuring the secure operation of industrial ventilation systems.
The 120 and 220 spark detectors from are ultra-sensitive infrared optical spark detectors designed to react to glowing particles within less then 1 millisecond. The units are sensitive in the 100 nanowatts band with to ensure detection of all sparks.
The Hansentek Spark Detector 120 is used in combination with the Hansentek AN104 or AN6400 panels only.
The model 220 can be used with any other model PLC and is protocol free.
Apart from the model 120 and 220 spark detectors which are suitable for NON-EX area’s we also offer the 122-1X and 222-1X models with EX approval for use in ATEX zone 1 and 2.
For high temperature applications we also offer spark detectors with two probes, model 121-2S for use with Hansentek panels and model 221-2S for use with non Hansentek panels.
Three models water spray assemblies can be used in combination with any of our spark detectors; the 901-1 is a solenoid controlled spray assembly for use inside air ducts. This model is NON-EX but is also available with an ATEX approval, model 901-1X. The model 902-1 is used as deluge spray assembly for use above conveyor belts.
Together with the Hansentek panels the units are capable of detecting and extinguishing sparks in milliseconds making sure these do not reach dust collectors or air filters and prevent potential explosions.

Performance
The 120 spark detector is designed to only work with the Hansentek AN104 and AN640-x control panels. The 220 spark detector is designed to be compatible with non-Hansentek panels on the market.
These units are commonly used in extraction ducts in welding and grinding industries, textile industry and the wood processing industry.
All Hansentek spark detectors can be used in combination with a (Hansentek) fire alarm panel and different types of (Hansentek) water spray nozzles for ducts or baghouses.
